I have the amazing experience of being married to a head high school football coach. My life is therefore pretty unique. During Fridays in the fall, I can be found in the stands at one of my hubby's games. During the week it's likely that I'm at practice at least once with our little boys. We chaperone prom, have team dinners, and are at the high school a lot. The football team is our family and I love being involved as much as I can.
Many people I meet are intrigued by this sector of my life. #IamTamiTaylor is the hashtag I use to chronicle my life as a football wife. It is based on the main character from the TV show Friday Night Lights, of which we are huge fans. It literally feels like they were video taping our life.
I believe sports, and particularly high school sports, can play a crucial role in developing athletes into women and men of character. While I am a true "football widow", I believe our family is investing in the lives of young men that will go on and make a difference in our world.
I hope by sharing photos and stories of our football life you are encouraged, maybe entertained, and choose to support the work of the many hard working, underpaid coaches and the families that support them.
